Westport, CT - Members of the Town of Westport Fire Department recently completed an Advanced Arizona Vortex course hosted by the Connecticut Fire Academy.

Over the three-day training, participants worked with the specialized Arizona Vortex system, used to create high-directional anchor points during rope rescue operations. The system helps improve safety by reducing rope abrasion and providing stable anchor solutions in complex environments.

Firefighters trained on advanced rigging, edge transitions, raising and lowering systems, and realistic rescue scenarios, further strengthening their technical rescue capabilities.
