Vigilant Hose Company #1 Celebrated Cash Cortazzo's Promotion

Port Vue, PA. — June 5 — Cash Cortazzo became a member of Vigilant Hose Company #1 of Port Vue, Station 237, at 1800 Romine Ave., when he was promoted to lieutenant with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire. At a ceremony when firemen William Russell became a lieutenant, Stephen Williams and Joshua Colbert became captains, and Kenneth Walz became battalion chief, Cortazzo was one of five members elevated.
During the ceremony, Mayor Corey O'Connor administered the oath of office. Cortazzo's promotion, according to department authorities, was a result of his leadership, devotion to the fire service, and hard work. They went on to say that the Port Vue department and the community it serviced were proud of his accomplishment.
