Patton Firefighter Earns Top Recruit Award at Academy Graduation

Firefighter/EMT Ryan Haluska on June 13 received recognition from members of Patton Fire Company No. 1 following his graduation from the Winchester Fire and Rescue Department Fire Academy in Winchester, Virginia, with Recruit Class 10.


Before being sworn in as a career firefighter/EMT, Haluska underwent more than 1,000 hours of physical training, fire, rescue, and EMS teaching. In honor of his leadership, expertise, and success throughout the academy, he was chosen by his peers to earn the Top Recruit award during the graduation ceremony. Leaders of the fire academy also commended the choice.


Haluska, who joined the Patton Fire Company at the age of 14, received praise for his commitment to the fire service. Members of the department also wished the graduates of Recruit Class 10 a safe and prosperous career and congratulated the entire class.
