Station 299 Officer Completed Rope Rescue Operations Course

White Oak, PA. — June 7 — At the Allegheny County Fire Academy, Lieutenant Anderson of the White Oak Volunteer Fire Department Station 299 finished a 20-hour course at the Rope Rescue Operations Level. High-angle and low-angle rescue operations, rope systems, and safe team practices were the main topics of the second of three courses needed for rope rescue certification. The course equipped firemen to assist with technical rescue situations in a range of settings.


Later in June, Lieutenant Anderson was supposed to finish the last Rope Rescue Technician training. The training demonstrated the department's continual dedication to enhancing technical rescue capabilities through continuing professional development and education.
