Turtle Creek, PA. — June 1 — During a fire alarm and evacuation drill at a senior care home, a team from Wilkins Township VFC No. 1, 835 Railroad St., helped the Turtle Creek Fire Department and other agencies. Firefighters and facility personnel reviewed emergency communications, building access, and evacuation protocols. Responders were able to assess operating plans and enhance coordination for upcoming crises thanks to the simulation.
Firefighters can better understand resident needs, access points, and life safety systems prior to an actual emergency by participating in regular training at healthcare facilities. The exercise improved local readiness and reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between medical professionals and emergency responders.
