Knowlton Firefighters Join Mount Bethel Wetdown Celebration

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

During a customary wetdown ceremony on June 30, members of Knowlton Township Fire and Rescue Company #1-Station 41 joined nearby departments to commemorate the arrival of a new fire apparatus at the Mount Bethel Fire Company.

According to officials, a long-standing fire service custom involves ceremoniously splashing a new piece of equipment with water from nearby departments to mark its introduction into operation. Firefighters on both sides of the Delaware River came together to celebrate regional cooperation and commemorate the milestone.

While commemorating ongoing investment in emergency response, department heads praised Mount Bethel Fire Company on their new equipment and noted that customs like wetdowns promote ties between nearby departments.
