Firefighter Geoffrey Wetherhold received congratulations from the Catasauqua Fire Department District 2 on June 6th for obtaining his Pennsylvania State and National Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

According to officials, Wetherhold expanded the department's emergency medical response capabilities by successfully completing the training and certification required to become an EMT. As a trained EMT, he will help mutual assistance agencies during emergencies and offer citizens of the boroughs superior prehospital medical care.
