Weatherly, PA. — May 29 — During memorial ceremonies, members of Citizens' Fire Company #1 in Weatherly paid their last respects to retired Fire Chief Vince Yaich Sr. of Diligent Fire Company No. 3 in Jim Thorpe. Yaich worked as a Pennsylvania DCNR Forest Fire Warden for many years in addition to more than 50 years of volunteer fire duty. He assisted regional disaster response activities and had a number of leadership roles during his career.

Fire agencies from other towns came together to recognize his commitment and service. Members of the Jim Thorpe fire service community and the Yaich family received condolences from Citizens' Fire Company #1.
