Jersey City Captain Steve Choffey, 2nd Battalion Chief Joe Vallo & Captain Dom Vallo

Photo by RON JEFFERSOn June 27th, Jersey City firefighters, families and friends celebrated the retirement of three of the city's Bravest. All three served the city for 31-years. (L to R): Captain Steve Choffey (Tower Ladder 4), 2nd Battalion Chief Joe Vallo and his brother, Captain Dom Vallo (Engine 13). The Vallo's father, Dominick, who came on the job in 1959, retired as a Chief in the 1st Battalion. His battalion chief's uniform shirt was worn by Joseph during the ceremony. Captain Choffey's father, Charlie, retired from Truck Co. 12, and he was also a long-time, well-respected member of the Gong Club.
