HOLLAND, MA. — May 29 — During Holland Elementary School's Field Day, the Holland Fire Department joined kids in activities that encouraged community involvement and fire safety. Throughout the event, firefighters provided junior firefighter helmets, sunglasses, and freeze pops, conducted a firefighter challenge course, and ran a cooling station in the hot heat. The department expressed gratitude to the Holland PTO and Holland Elementary School staff for planning the yearly event.

In addition to providing children with an engaging introduction to the fire department, community events such as Field Day assisted firemen in fostering strong relationships with youngsters. Additionally, the occasion improved ties between the department, nearby schools, and the families they assisted.
