Bondsville, MA. — June 16 — Ian LaPete and Gavin Ryder-Medina, members of the Bondsville Fire Department Auxiliary, completed the Western Massachusetts Regional Firefighter I Recruit Training Program in Class 010. The recruits finished the live-fire drills, practical skill training, and classroom education necessary for Firefighter I certification. Additionally, teachers, policemen, and firefighters from participating departments—including the Monson Fire Department—were honored at the graduation for their support of the regional training program.

The basis for a secure and efficient emergency response is provided by Firefighter I training. The achievement improved the department's capacity to serve the Bondsville town and its environs by adding two newly trained personnel.
