Bondsville, MA. — May 25 — The Bondsville Fire Department observed Memorial Day with the community, paying tribute to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who lost their lives while serving their country. After the American Civil War, Decoration Day was first observed. Later, it was renamed Memorial Day to honor all American service men who lost their lives while serving in the armed forces.
Along with locals and veterans, firefighters took part in the yearly ceremony of remembrance. The National Day of Prayer for Permanent Peace is observed on Memorial Day as well. The event served as a reminder of how crucial it is to honor the country's fallen military personnel and preserve their legacy for coming generations.
