Members of the Athol Fire Department commemorated Firefighter Sunday on June 14th by paying tribute to firefighters from throughout the country as well as the department's departed members.

According to officials, the yearly observance offers a chance to honor the commitment, service, and enduring contributions of firefighters who gave their lives to defending their communities. The department recognized the common customs of memory within the fire service and considered the sacrifices made by those who served before them.
