GREENFIELD, MA. — May 22 — Across the week, the Greenfield Fire Department continued to provide ambulance service and fire protection across the city while responding to a consistent number of incidents. Firefighters and EMTs responded to a rollover crash with entrapment on Interstate 91, handled a power pole incident that resulted in a brush fire, handled multiple car accidents and fire alarms, and conducted 14 patient transfers in a 48-hour period.

Members of Group 3 were also honored during the week for their successful reaction to a cardiac arrest in December during National EMS Week. As emergency calls arose, Greenfield's cross-trained staff continued to switch between EMS and fire assignments.
