Ashburnham Fire Department personnel joined communities across on May 25th to commemorate Memorial Day and pay tribute to the men and women of the US Armed Forces who gave their lives while serving their country.

According to officials, the day offers a chance to consider the bravery, commitment, and selflessness of those who sacrificed their life to protect the liberties enjoyed by future generations. The sacrifices made by military families who carry on their loved ones' legacy were also acknowledged by firefighters.

Department heads urged citizens to ponder and show thanks in remembrance of the country's fallen heroes.
