Kailyn Greenwood Continues Fire and EMS Training Journey

Members of the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Company celebrated RAM Kailyn Greenwood on June 8th for being chosen to receive the annual scholarship given to graduating seniors for exceptional community service by the Onondaga County Volunteer Firefighters Association.


Greenwood has already finished New York State Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO), Interior Firefighting Operations (IFO), and firefighter survival training while still in high school, according to officials. Additionally, she is enrolled in the New York State Emergency Medical Technician program, which she is anticipated to finish later this summer.


Leaders of the department commended Greenwood for her commitment to emergency medical treatment and the fire service, pointing out that her achievements demonstrate a strong desire to serve her community.
