Town of Bethlehem Memorial Day Service

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

A Memorial Day service was held in the Town of Bethlehem on Monday, May 31.

While there was no Town of Bethlehem Memorial Day Parade this year, local first responders still held to their tradition of holding a service honoring those who served.

The service was held at the Firefighters Memorial Park, located directly next to the Slingerlands Firehouse on New Scotland Road.

The park is a tribute to those who have passed serving the communities for the North Bethlehem, Slingerlands, Delmar, Elsmere and Selkirk fire departments and EMS.

Firefighters raised the American Flag both at the park and in front of the Slingerlands Firehouse.

Since the town wouldn’t allow for a parade again this year, first responders wanted to make sure to continue their tradition of honoring those who have served.
