Shift 4 Sharpens Technical Rescue Skills During Lifting Drill

To improve technical rescue and patient-handling abilities, Bath Fire & Rescue Department Shift 4 members trained in Stokes basket lifting on June 10.


According to officials, the training concentrated on setting up the apparatus for both vertical and horizontal rescue operations as well as correctly securing patients in a litter, also referred to as a Stokes basket. Firefighters rehearsed safe lifting techniques and rigging strategies for usage in limited places, rough terrain, and other demanding situations.
