CABOT, VT — May 28th — Monthly training sessions on tanker operations and water supply management were held by the Cabot, Vermont Volunteer Fire Department. Using both pressurized and dry hydrants, firefighters rotated through practical exercises that included setting up a portable pump, going over fundamental wildland fire response techniques, and organizing water supply operations. In rural firefighting, where dependable water delivery is essential to emergency operations, the training strengthened abilities that are frequently employed.
Regular training, according to department officials, improves cooperation on the fireground and helps workers stay familiar with equipment and response protocols. As the region moves into the warmer months, the seminar also offered a chance to review strategies employed during wildland events and structure fires.
