Multi-Agency Response Assists Injured Hiker on Mount Equinox Trail

The Manchester Fire Department responded to a rescue call involving an injured hiker on the Mount Equinox trail system at 9:44 a.m. on June 5.


Officers from Vermont Fish & Wildlife, the Northshire Rescue Squad, and the Arlington Fire Department joined the firefighters to help with coordination and access in the wooded area.


The Manchester Police Department and emergency dispatchers were also commended by officials for their collaboration and communication during the crisis. The Dorset Fire Department and East Dorset Fire Department automatically supplied mutual help to keep Manchester covered during the rescue.


All responding authorities worked together to provide a safe conclusion to the situation.
