This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Manchester Fire Department personnel took part in a rigorous automobile extrication training exercise at Slate Valley Auto in Granville, New York, on May 31.

According to officials, the practical instruction concentrated on vital rescue methods utilized in severe auto accidents, such as coordinated tool operations, glass management, patient access, door and roof removal, and vehicle stability. Firefighters were able to practice using rescue saws, stability struts, cribbing, and extrication gear in a realistic environment that mimicked actual crises.

These kinds of exercises, according to department commanders, help firemen operate safely and effectively while reacting to real-world emergencies by strengthening communication, improving collaboration, and developing muscle memory. The department commended Slate Valley Auto for supplying vehicles and a training venue, and complimented the Dorset Fire Department for coordinating the training.
