During the department's monthly meeting on June 1st, members of the City of Vergennes Fire Department recognized four retired firefighters for their decades of service to the city and its surrounding areas.

Together, the four retirees gave the department 159 years of expertise, according to officials. Deputy Chief James Larrow (48 years of service), Deputy Chief Chris Gebo (37 years), Captain Chris Dion (37 years), and Senior Firefighter Patrick Crowley (37 years) were among those honored.

The retirees were honored by department heads for their leadership, commitment to public service, and hard work throughout their careers. Each member left a lasting legacy inside the Vergennes Fire agency, according to officials, by teaching upcoming generations of firefighters and helping to shape the agency.
