BUTLER, PA. — May 5th — Rescue operations and patient care were the main topics of a vehicle extrication training course that Unionville Volunteer Fire Company members finished. Door removals, dash lifts, and roof flap operations—all crucial procedures utilized in auto accidents—were covered in the training. Using pre-plumbed hydraulic equipment, portable TNT rescue tools, and other specialized equipment carried on department apparatus, crews received training from Engine 14 and Rescue 14.

In order to increase efficiency and coordination when evacuating confined passengers, firefighters practiced a variety of scenarios. For patients to have safe access during vehicle extrication situations, fire and emergency medical services personnel must carefully collaborate. Regular practical training, according to officials, maintains operational preparedness, equipment knowledge, and rescue skills. The training bolsters the department's dedication to providing the Butler community with efficient emergency services.
