West Sunbury VFD Marked International Firefighters’ Day

WEST SUNBURY, PA. — May 4th — Every year on May 4th, International firemen' Day, the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department honored firemen worldwide. The department, which is located at 772 Hall Road in Butler, recognized the vital work that both volunteer and professional firemen do. Emergency staff deal with car wrecks, medical emergencies, public service situations, and community education programs in addition to responding to fires.


The event provides a chance to honor the commitment and education needed to work in the fire department. Through mutual aid agreements, firefighters also collaborate closely with nearby departments to make sure resources are accessible when communities need support. West Sunbury VFD thanked firemen in the area and beyond for their year-round dedication to community service and public safety.
