Aliquippa, PA - Aliquippa firefighters joined forces with crews from New Brighton Volunteer Fire Department, City of Beaver Falls Fire Department, and Crescent Township Volunteer Fire Department, along with Allegheny Health Network Prehospital Care Services and Medic Rescue, for a hands-on confined space rescue drill along the Ohio River.
The training focused on real-world industrial rescue scenarios, including high-angle rope systems, patient packaging, hazard recognition, air monitoring, communications, and safe victim removal from restricted access areas.
This joint exercise strengthened interagency coordination and reinforced the importance of teamwork, specialized equipment, and technical proficiency when operating in complex rescue environments.
Departments expressed appreciation for the opportunity to train together and continue improving readiness for confined space and industrial emergencies.
