Beaver, PA - Brighton Township Volunteer Fire Department – Station 63 hosted an evening of hands-on vehicle extrication training for students from the Community College of Beaver County EMT program.

Participants worked through realistic motor vehicle accident scenarios alongside fire department personnel, gaining practical experience in patient packaging, scene safety, and vehicle extrication techniques. Students also operated specialized hydraulic rescue tools, commonly known as the “Jaws of Life,” while learning the importance of coordinated teamwork between fire and EMS during emergency incidents.

Additional support was provided by Medic Rescue Ambulance Service, which supplied an ambulance for hands-on training and patient care familiarization. Shell Polymers Monaca also contributed a rescue truck, equipment, and personnel to enhance the training experience.

This collaborative training opportunity helped students build confidence, strengthen essential skills, and gain valuable real-world insight as they prepare for careers in emergency services.
