This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

SANGERVILLE, ME — April 25th — Throughout the weekend, Sangerville Fire Department personnel continued to be involved in both emergency calls and community support activities. Using the department's rescue boat to help competitors and event personnel, firefighters started providing safety coverage at a local canoe race on Saturday.

Before responding to a small wildland fire near Sangerville, crews later used mutual aid to help at an out-of-town building fire. In the event of a structure fire or brush fire, volunteer fire companies in rural Maine often rely on regional cooperation and mutual aid agreements. According to department officials, the weekend demonstrated the firefighters' unwavering commitment to juggling emergency response tasks with continuous training obligations and community events.
