On the evening of May 21st, River Edge volunteer firefighter, and ex-Chief, Dick Berry celebrated his 85th birthday by conducting a class on "How to read smoke," utilizing his vast experience, during Company 1's drill night.  The retired FBI agent, Honorary FDNY Battalion Chief, Gong Club member, etc., is still contributing to his community.  After the drill, he was surprised by a visit from his family (plus his fire department family) with a birthday cake.
