Pelham, NH - Pelham Fire Department participated in an educational training session with Nicholas North of UMass Memorial Life Flight, focusing on the role of air medical transport in critical emergency care.

The training highlighted how helicopter-based transport can significantly reduce response times for trauma and medical patients requiring rapid transfer to specialized facilities.

Crews reviewed operational considerations and coordination procedures essential for safe and effective utilization of air medical resources.

A key component of the training included the landing of a LifeFlight EC-135 air ambulance at a local landing zone, giving personnel hands-on exposure to scene safety, aircraft operations, and patient transfer protocols.

The department emphasized the value of continued collaboration with air medical partners in strengthening emergency response capabilities and improving patient outcomes when every second counts.
