Regional Departments Assisted at Alstead Brush Fire

Alstead, N.H. — June 15 — A deep-seated brush fire that lasted for two days was put out by Alstead Fire and Rescue in collaboration with many mutual aid agencies. Firefighters discovered that the fire was spreading over about 2.75 acres, burning six to eight inches below the surface, necessitating a thorough overhaul to remove any concealed hot spots. Suppression operations were aided by crews from Lempster, Stoddard, Gilsum, Acworth, Surry, Sullivan, Walpole, and Keene.


The fire was brought under control and its spread was stopped thanks to the synchronized reaction. The cause of the fire is yet unknown, according to officials. The event demonstrated the importance of regional cooperation and mutual aid during protracted wildfire efforts.
