BRICK TOWNSHIP, N.J. — April 13th — During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, the Department Brick Township Fire Department/Fire Safety Bureau honored the dispatchers that assist emergency operations throughout the community. The week, which is observed every April, emphasizes the critical role dispatchers play in managing emergency calls, obtaining information, and organizing responses for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services.

Dispatchers stay in touch with responders throughout incidents and are frequently the initial point of contact during crises. Dispatching units, keeping an eye on radio traffic, and assisting with responder safety are among their duties.
