On May 2, the Scullville Volunteer Fire Company honored John Webb upon his retirement from Bimbo Bakeries USA (Stroehmann) following 37 years of service.
As a life member and treasurer, Webb continues to be involved with the fire department. He has worked for the department for more than 40 years in a variety of capacities, including assistant chief and firefighter. His long-standing dedication to juggling employment, family obligations, and fire service was acknowledged by officials.
Additionally, Webb was acknowledged by members for his assistance in securing rolls for the yearly hayride and maintaining the station snack bar. He was apparently called "the muffin man" by kids from a nearby daycare. The agency wished Webb a happy retirement and thanked him for his years of service.
