Members of the West Grove Fire Company and the Avondale Fire Company participated in live burn training at the West Chester Fire Training Center on April 11.
In a controlled, supervised exercise known as a "live burn," firefighters start actual flames in a training structure to practice handling heat, smoke, and fire behavior in a secure setting.
The crews worked on communication, ventilation, search and rescue, fire assault, and hose line advancement. According to officials, the training enhances teamwork, promotes efficient emergency response, and keeps participants ready to defend the city.
