Wires Down Incident Sparks Brush Fire on Steep Embankment

Bucks, PA - On 2 June 2026, at approximately 12:00 PM, Engine 23 was dispatched to assist Station 49 for a reported wires-down incident that had resulted in a brush fire.
Upon arrival, crews discovered that the fire had spread up a steep embankment roughly 60 feet above the roadway. Firefighters worked under difficult terrain conditions to contain and extinguish the flames, preventing further spread.
Field 23 also responded to assist with suppression efforts. Through coordinated teamwork and a rapid response, the fire was successfully brought under control.
Assistance was provided by Palisades Regional Fire Rescue, Dublin Volunteer Fire Company, Midway Volunteer Fire Company, and Upper Black Eddy Fire Company.
Authorities reminded the public to always maintain a safe distance from downed utility wires, report them immediately to 9-1-1, and never assume a wire is de-energized.
