Awards Night Highlights Fire and EMS Activity in Aston Township

On April 26, the Aston Township Fire Department hosted their yearly awards luncheon to honor members for their contributions and involvement during the previous year. The department's leadership praised Barnaby's Aston for helping with the event and members, employees, and their families for their ongoing support.


Thomas Lafferty III received Junior Firefighter of the Year, while Dave Durbano and Mike Ellis Jr. received the President's Award. Tom Benson was chosen Firefighter of the Year, while Kurt Tiger was given the Chief's Award. After spearheading EMS responses, Joseph Denney was named EMS Person of the Year.


The department also released its Top 10 Fire and Top 5 EMS response totals, highlighting active participation across both divisions. Michael Washlick was named Employee of the Year. The event marked another year of service and commitment within the department.
