Aston Township Clarifies EMS Roles Following Public Questions

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

A public explanation of how emergency medical services are delivered in the community was released by the Aston Township Fire Department.

The department affirmed that it provides Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance services, which include bleeding control, oxygen administration, CPR, AED use, patient assessment, and hospital transport. Recent misunderstandings about the Aston Township Ambulance Authority were also addressed by officials, who pointed out that it functions independently of the fire department.

Although it does not transport patients, the Ambulance Authority offers Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic services. On the other hand, patient transport and BLS treatment are handled by the fire department.
