Essex VFD Hosts Successful Recruit NY Open House

On April 19, the Essex Volunteer Fire Department held a Recruit NY open house, bringing locals to the station for demonstrations and tours.
The station, the department's new Engine 161, and conversations with volunteers and firemen about operations and service were all open to visitors. These kinds of events are a part of statewide initiatives to promote volunteer opportunities and aid in recruitment.
Willsboro Essex EMS joined the department, showing the Essex and Willsboro communities how to respond to medical emergencies and giving tours of an ambulance.
