Annual Controlled Burn Reduces Brushfire Risk at Local Golf Course

Rockport, ME - Rockport Fire Department members partnered with Goose River Golf Club to carry out their eighth annual controlled burn, focusing on brush areas surrounding the course.


A total of 16 firefighters volunteered their time to work alongside groundskeepers, using coordinated efforts to safely reduce accumulated vegetation and lower the risk of seasonal brush fires.


This proactive initiative highlights the importance of prevention and collaboration, helping protect both the property and the surrounding community from potential wildfire hazards.
