Hollis Center, ME — April 16th — A Hollis Pre-K class was given a station tour and lunch as part of a reading reward program at Department Hollis Fire Rescue, located at 34 Town Farm Road. In a controlled environment, students met on-duty staff, saw equipment, and took a tour of the station. Crews went over fundamental fire safety concepts, such as how to identify firemen wearing full gear and how to make a rescue call. Such initiatives are frequently utilized to increase early awareness and lessen anxiety during catastrophes.

Community partners provided funding for lunch. Pizza was furnished by Low's Variety, and dessert was supplied by Hollis Tommy's Ice Cream. Transport was managed by the Bonny Eagle Transportation Department. The visit was organized by Hollis Elementary staff. The program provided students with an organized introduction to the fire department and went smoothly.
