Berwick, ME — April 25th — The 17th anniversary of Deputy Fire Chief Brian Beeler's death following a fight with leukemia was commemorated by the Berwick Fire Department, located at 3 Public Safety Way. Beeler held important leadership positions, including as Deputy Chief, during his lengthy tenure with the police. During training and events, he was renowned for his great operational expertise and consistent command presence.

In order to create a trustworthy team within the department, he also served as a mentor to younger colleagues. His emphasis on accountability and safety was consistent with the fire service in Maine. His contributions to department operations and emergency response are still acknowledged by members. His efforts and example are still a part of the department's foundation seventeen years later, and they still serve as a source of guidance for others who are currently working in the community.
