Engine 4 and Tanker 1 Used in Water Supply Training

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Belfast, ME — April 15th — A training session on pump operations and drafting from an open water source was held by the Belfast Fire and EMS, located at 273 Main Street. To create a draft, run the pump, and ensure a steady flow of water, crews collaborated with Engine 4 and Tanker 1. The exercise reaffirmed strategies for regions without fire hydrants, where drafting and tanker operations are necessary to support fire attacks.

The training was led by Chief P. Richards, Assistant Chief B. Richards, and Deputy Chief Kulbe, who went over equipment usage and setup procedures. Frequent practical exercises guarantee that crews are ready for rural water supply operations and can continue to provide efficient fireground support in situations where hydrant access is restricted across the response area.
