FORT FAIRFIELD, ME — April 8th — High school students participated in an interactive program to learn about the fire service at Fort Fairfield Fire Rescue, located at 18 Community Center Drive. Students were introduced to typical emergency response procedures, basic equipment, and apparatus operations during the program. Members emphasized safety, cooperation, and communication while leading students through hands-on demonstrations.
Such initiatives are frequently utilized to help future recruitment efforts and to increase interest in careers in fire and emergency medical services. In order to engage younger audiences and give them early exposure to public safety positions, departments throughout the region are still expanding their outreach programs. According to officials, the program helps students better grasp the duties and expectations of today's firemen and EMS workers while also fostering stronger community links.
