Chaumont, NY — April 19th — Members of the Cape Vincent Ambulance Squad participated in an eight-hour Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) delivered by risk management specialist Joe Nemier at the Chaumont Volunteer Fire Department, situated at 11385 State Route 12E. The focus of the lesson was safe emergency driving, which included managing high-stress situations, situating vehicles, and controlling intersections.

Crews finished both practical driving exercises and classroom instruction. The fire and emergency medical services employ EVOC training extensively to lower incidents involving equipment and raise driver awareness. To promote safe operations during emergency responses and safeguard responders and the public, departments continue to place a strong emphasis on routine training.
