LEWISTON, ME — Firefighters recently took part in hands on training focused on the hydraulic principles that continue to guide modern fireground operations.

Concepts first identified by Blaise Pascal remain essential to how water is moved and applied during firefighting efforts.

During the session, pump operators reviewed and applied calculations required to move water efficiently through hose lines while maintaining the proper pressure and flow needed for effective fire suppression.

The training emphasized the importance of understanding these foundational principles to ensure safe and efficient operations on the fireground, reinforcing skills that are critical during emergency response.
