LISBON, ME — Firefighters responded to a reported house fire on Upland Road and arrived to find smoke showing from an attached garage with fire spreading across the ceiling.

Crews quickly stretched a handline and launched an interior attack while establishing a water supply. Their efforts brought the fire under control in a short time and kept it confined to the garage and its contents, preventing extension into the main living area. The home remained livable.

Officials credited the homeowner’s quick emergency call along with a rapid and coordinated fire department response for limiting damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and is not considered suspicious.

No injuries were reported.
