BELLMORE, NY — April 18th — After completing her probationary period, FireMedic Lizeth Villa received recognition from the Bellmore Fire Department during a department meeting. She was given a new helmet shield to commemorate the achievement by Chief Eric Ozechowski and Second Assistant Chief James Constantin. Since joining, Villa has been involved in reacting to alarms, helping with patient care, and supporting departmental operations.

Additionally, she finished the six-month New York State EMT program, which consists of ambulance ride-alongs, hospital rotations, and classroom instruction. Nassau County's volunteer EMS personnel are still juggling personal obligations, response tasks, and training. With the help of other members, Villa finished her certification while working and taking care of her little boy. Her ongoing dedication to operations and service was acknowledged by department leaders.
