One of the biggest fire service training conferences in the nation, FDIC International 2026, is being attended by four members of the Bayport Fire Department.

Members are taking part in classroom and practical training throughout the event, which includes "man vs. machine" scenarios, live fire "can confidence" drills, and heavy and advanced extrication. Firefighters from all over the nation and the world come together for the conference to acquire cutting-edge fireground tactics and receive training from knowledgeable instructors.

Attending FDIC, according to department officials, enables members to improve their abilities and return to the agency with current training and knowledge.
