Pomfret, VT - Pomfret-Teago Volunteer Fire Department members conducted hands-on training with wildland apparatus, including the Squad and Ranger units, to enhance operational readiness.
Crews focused on key skills such as pump operations, hose line deployment, and drafting from a water source to refill apparatus tanks—critical functions during brush fire incidents.
The training reinforces preparedness for the fire season, with officials also reminding residents that outdoor burning requires a permit, which is currently not being issued.
