DUMMERSTON, VT, March 21st — The town now has a 4,000-gallon water supply capacity thanks to the Dummerston Fire Department's installation of a new 2,000-gallon tanker. The feature facilitates operations in hydrant-free locations, where tanker shuttle systems are frequently needed. It is anticipated that the new equipment will increase the effectiveness of water distribution and expand its capacity to control fires during work-related incidents.

In rural response, tankers are essential because they enable teams to maintain a consistent water supply through well-planned shuttle operations. Attendees from the community joined department staff to commemorate the milestone at the commissioning. Deni Tier created the tanker's unique visuals, which represent the department's design philosophy. According to officials, the new organization will improve regional mutual aid support as well as local responsiveness.
