Westminster Department Acknowledges Fawcett for 53 Years of Service

WESTMINSTER, VT, April 7th — Michael Fawcett was honored by Westminster Fire & Rescue for his 53 years of devoted service to the organization and the neighborhood. Over the course of more than 50 years, Fawcett contributed to emergency response operations, training, and station support while serving in both fire and EMS capacities. Members like Fawcett are essential to volunteer departments throughout Vermont because of their dedication and expertise, which help them stay prepared and train new hires.


His years of service are indicative of the long history of community-based emergency response in rural locations, where members frequently juggle full-time professions with public duty. His consistent presence and assistance to residents and other responders were recognized by department members. Fawcett is anticipated to continue to be a regular figure at the station despite leaving active duty.
